Melanie Stroud brings a background in Human Resources and Finance to her role as Secretary of the Veteran Excellence Magazine board, along with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Her professional experience has centered on organization, documentation, and attention to detail, skills she now applies as a patient advocate for seniors and adults with intellectual disabilities, where she helps individuals and families navigate healthcare decisions, services, and resources.

Melanie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and raised in Glendale, Arizona. She is a mother of two sons and a woman of faith whose life has been shaped by resilience. She has overcome emotional abuse and manages chronic autoimmune conditions including lupus and Sjögren's syndrome, experiences that inform her advocacy work and her belief in showing up for others. Her personal motto, "Live contrary to the negative report," guides how she approaches both her work and her life.

Melanie has a long history of community outreach, nonprofit involvement, and women's empowerment. She is committed to serving her community and advocating for people who may have difficulty advocating for themselves, values she brings directly to her work on the board of Veteran Excellence Magazine.
